Reflecting on Revival

What a joy it was to have Neil and Tom with us these last few days. Neil did so well to lead us in worship, and to connect with our youth and our children in song and praise. And Tom brought messages each evening that were both encouraging and challenging, reminding us that we serve a God of love and grace, and a God who demands faith and obedience from his children.

As a body of believers, we welcomed 5 youth into the family of Christ, from Sunday morning to Wednesday evening – what a BEAUTIFUL picture of both God’s faithfulness and his commitment to loving his children.

As we continue forward at Rocky Creek, God is calling each of us to continually pray for revival in our church and in the lives of our people. How blessed we are to be called His own, and to have opportunity to experience renewal and to witness the birth of new life in our community.

God speed, Rocky Creek!

A Homecoming Devotion

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock…Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. Acts 20:28

As we celebrate our Homecoming, let it be a reminder of how Rocky Creek has been a blessing to us throughout the years. Of all the wonderful fellowships and the relationships we’ve established, of all the many ways we’ve grown through its ministries and its people, and of the ways it has challenged, encouraged, and supported us.

And let Homecoming be a reminder of our responsibility to each other, as “the flock” which God has drawn to this wonderful church. As God’s church, we are called to love and accept one another, without prejudice. Let us show that same love and acceptance to those in our community, as we seek to serve them.

And most of all, let our Homecoming be a reminder of the sacrifice Christ made for His church. It was His sacrifice which gives us something to celebrate on this special day in the life of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.

May we all “be shepherds of the church of God” and pray constantly for “all the flock of which the Holy Spirit” has given us.
